Hong Kong Customs detected a smuggling case worth about HK$ 38 million.

The Hong Kong Customs announced on March 25th that an anti-smuggling operation was carried out in the northwest waters of Hong Kong on the 24th, and a suspected smuggling case was detected, and a batch of suspected smuggled goods with an estimated market value of about HK$ 38 million were seized, and a light van involved in the case was detained.

In the waters near Tung Chung on the early morning of 24th, Customs officers found a suspicious speedboat with no navigation lights on heading for Tung Chung Public Pier. After that, a light van arrived at the dock, and the truck driver and seven men immediately put the goods on the truck on the speedboat, which was suspected to be smuggling activities.

Customs officers immediately took action, and the eight men quickly boarded the speedboat and fled to the mainland waters at high speed. During the operation, customs officers seized 26 boxes of suspected smuggled goods, most of which were electronic parts, and the rest included bird’s nest, dried flower glue, wireless network cameras and suspected pseudoephedrine.
