At present, the types of saline-alkali land for sea rice cultivation in China are soda frozen soil saline-alkali land in northeast China, saline-alkali land around Bohai Sea, arid and semi-arid saline-alkali land in northwest China, saline-alkali land in coastal small watershed type, newly-born saline-alkali land in southeast China, and secondary saline-alkali land in degraded farmland in central China. Other salt-tolerant crops can also be planted in these places.
