On the morning of November 29th, the court of Weifang High-tech Zone in Shandong Province held a public apology ceremony for Sun Xiqing. At the scene, Wang Bin, vice president of the High-tech Zone Court, bowed and apologized to Sun Xiqing.
Sun Xiqing(Apologize at the scene)：I hope the court can eliminate the influence on me in the media and let my relatives, friends, colleagues and classmates know that I am innocent and innocent.
In 2003, Sun Xiqing mobilized seven overseas doctors to return to China, and went to Weifang to establish Microlight Electronics Co., Ltd. as the chairman and president. At the end of July, 2014, there was a board dispute in Zhongwei Electronics (Weifang) Co., Ltd., after which Sun Xiqing was removed from the post of chairman and president. More than a month later, a director of the company reported to the public security organ that Sun Xiqing took advantage of his position to occupy the company’s property.
Sun Xiqing (telephone interview）：I certainly didn’t expect that I could be detained in it for 1277 days. I think they made a mistake. As long as the police investigate further, they should be able to find the truth according to the clues I provided. I should be released soon after I find out the truth. But unfortunately, they didn’t do it.
On February 3, 2015, Sun Xiqing was detained by the public security organs. At the end of April, 2015, several shareholders of Zhongweiguang Electronics (Weifang) Co., Ltd. founded by Sun Xiqing registered and established a new company.
Sun Xiqing (telephone interview）：My case was caused by a director of the company saying that I took a lot of money from the company. After I was arrested, several other shareholders set up a new company.
In November 2015, Sun Xiqing was prosecuted by the local prosecutor, charged with the crime of falsely issuing VAT invoices and the crime of occupational embezzlement. In August 2018, he was released on bail pending trial. During his 1277 days in detention, Sun Xiqing always insisted that he was innocent. The case was decided in the first instance and then sent back for retrial. The transcript of the trial shows that this case has gone through 114 trials in four years.
Sun Xiqing (telephone interview）：He sued me for eight crimes. There are eight under the two major charges, and if one of them is hanged, I will be finished. They keep getting some evidence and confusing right and wrong.
On May 10, 2019, Weifang High-tech Zone Court made a criminal ruling on the case, allowing the High-tech Zone Procuratorate to withdraw the prosecution against Sun Xiqing on the grounds of "unclear facts and insufficient evidence".
Sun Xiqing (telephone interview）：This case has been going on for so long, and it has been heard 114 times. Why not let the court get a verdict? Why did you withdraw? I also withdrew it one day in advance. During the trial, I reminded the procuratorate many times. Do you still think I am guilty?
On November 29th, Sun Xiqing strongly appealed to the relevant judicial personnel who made this unjust case to be seriously held accountable at the apology ceremony held by the High-tech Zone Court in Weifang City, Shandong Province.
