On March 28th, the four-day trial of the 2024 National Rowing Spring Championship and the unsuccessful competition of the Paris Olympic Games was held at Qiandao Lake National Water Sports Base in Zhejiang. Nearly 600 rowers from 21 teams from Zhejiang, Jilin and Hong Kong participated in the competition. Forty-seven rowers from Hubei participated in nine events, winning three gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal, and the fourth place in the overall score of the team. Team members Liu Zhiyu, Li Wenlei, Wang Zifeng, Lin Xinyu and Zhang Maolin won the Sports Morality and Fashion Award.

There are 14 events in this competition, including men’s (women’s) single paddle, double paddle, double paddle, four-person single paddle, four-person single paddle and eight-person single paddle with helmsman. After fierce competition, 19 players from our province entered the finals of 7 events.

After fierce struggle, Liu Zhiyu, Wang Zifeng and Li Wenlei won the men’s quadruple sculls, women’s quadruple sculls and men’s quadruple sculls respectively. Sun Lu and Zhang Maolin won the runner-up in men’s double single oar; Li Luwen, Yang Rongrong, Sun Ning, Wu Yongmei, Wei Wenlin, Zhang Qiuyi, Li Duolei, Lin Xinyu and Luo Fuman (helmsman) won the third place in the women’s eight-person single oar helmsman.
The remaining veteran recruits who reached the finals won the fourth place in men’s eight-person single oar and women’s eight-person single oar, the fifth place in men’s single oar, men’s four-person single oar, women’s eight-person single oar and women’s four-person double oar respectively.

The women’s rowing team won 1 gold and 1 bronze in the final, and the outstanding player Yu Jingyi regretted being out because of injury and illness during winter training.
