At the meeting, the relevant person in charge said that in the first half of this year, China’s postal express delivery industry showed the characteristics of steady expansion of industry scale, accelerated development in the central and western regions and more balanced urban development.
According to the State Post Bureau, in the first two months of this year, in order to meet the delivery demand during New Year’s Day and Spring Festival, the postal express delivery industry effectively guaranteed the supply of transportation capacity and promoted the bottoming out of the online economy, with a cumulative growth rate of 4.6% in two months. Since March, postal express and e-commerce have been in-depth cooperation, and the market scale has been continuously expanded. It has become normal for the business volume to break through 10 billion pieces a month.

Wang Yuehan said that in the first half of the year, the growth rate of Shanxi, Jilin and other central provinces is expected to reach more than 50%, leading the country. The growth rate of the western region in the first and second quarters exceeded the national average, and showed an accelerated development trend. Among them, the growth rates of Shaanxi, Qinghai, Guizhou, Xinjiang and other provinces (regions) are expected to exceed 30%, which has become a bright spot in the development of the western region.

The industry provided effective assistance in promoting the accelerated flow of regional factors and coordinated development among regions.

At today’s press conference, the relevant person in charge of the State Post Bureau said that in the first half of the year, the postal express delivery industry accelerated its construction in terms of basic capacity building, network layout optimization and industrial coordination.
In terms of infrastructure, the global postal express hub cluster has been accelerated, and distribution centers at all levels have been put into operation and opened in many places. In terms of comprehensive transportation, the express delivery industry has increased the construction of its own fleet, and the land dedicated line has been steadily increased. The construction of aviation hubs such as Ezhou and Jiaxing was accelerated, and the scale of its own all-cargo aircraft fleet was further expanded. The railway express has developed normally, and the "high-speed rail express" product has been launched.
In the first half of the year, express delivery companies and traditional e-commerce companies developed in coordination, constantly optimizing new service schemes such as live e-commerce, social e-commerce and content e-commerce, making efficient use of various warehouse network resources, and enhancing warehouse dry distribution operation capabilities.

Express delivery enterprises adhere to the development direction of "delivery+advanced manufacturing", launch online and offline multi-channel integrated solutions, and flexibly adopt various operation methods such as sorting first, sorting while picking, and assembly line packaging to help manufacturing enterprises reduce costs, improve energy efficiency, and accelerate the promotion from single logistics and transportation to integrated supply chain management services.
Wang Yuehan said that in the first half of the year, the postal express delivery industry actively served the development of cross-border e-commerce, integrated various transportation resources of land, sea and air, and opened more than 10 international routes, opened additional land lines to Southeast Asia, and opened international trains and international shipping routes in Southeast Asia, Europe and other countries. Self-operated warehouses were opened in many places, the layout of overseas hubs, ground networks and overseas warehouses continued to improve, and the end-to-end cross-border service capability was further enhanced. In the first half of the year, with the continuous improvement of the industry’s ability to go to sea, the international/Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan express delivery business volume achieved rapid development, and the business volume increased significantly year-on-year.
Express companies constantly improve the cold chain service function.
In view of the current surge in the demand for delivery of fresh products in China, the relevant person in charge of the State Post Bureau said at the press conference that express delivery companies are constantly improving the cold chain service function.
Wang Yuehan, Director of Industrial Economics Research Department of Development Research Center of State Post Bureau:Express delivery enterprises rely on the national backbone cold chain logistics base, vigorously build provincial and municipal cold chain storage and processing facilities, and open cold chain distribution centers in many places. Promote the construction of county cold chain collection and distribution centers in the country of origin, and add cold chain storage facilities in the existing distribution centers. Focus on the shortcomings of cold chain facilities at both ends, add small pre-cooling mobile storage facilities in the fields, and add storage equipment such as freezers at the terminal comprehensive service station to meet the demand for cold chain investment in the "first mile" and "last mile".
Express delivery companies also aim at the fresh-keeping needs of different categories such as fruits and vegetables, aquatic products, flowers and trees, and adopt the combined cold-chain packaging such as "customized carton+foam box+absorbent paper+ice bag+plastic wrap+insulation bag" by applying cold-chain circulating boxes and cold storage boxes, and develop customized packaging such as spontaneous modified atmosphere fresh-keeping boxes to promote the innovative development of cold-chain packaging and ensure the safety of fresh delivery.

In addition, express delivery companies also use smart maps, big data, cloud computing and other technologies to enhance real-time intelligent overall scheduling and optimize cold chain transportation routes. Strengthen the application of temperature monitoring equipment, strengthen the temperature control ability of the whole chain, and improve the level of intelligent development.
